Florilegia are collections of writings (etymologically equivalent to “anthologies”). In the Middle Ages, people would compile a group of excerpts from a multitude of writings on a topic and smush them together in a single book called a florilegium.  The compiler sometimes made comments called glosses on the excerpts.

This blog will, in effect be a modern version of this mediaeval tradition. I have a variety of interests, so expect to see posts about politics (Canadian and international), science, religion,  history, current events, hockey and other sports, and perhaps even music, theatre,  and movies. You probably won’t find a lot about books or reading here because I have a separate blog devoted entirely to them (check out the sidebar for a link).
